Sheree comes from an English speaking background, lives with mental health & physical disability. After a failed attempt to gain access to the NDIS, Sheree came to DACSSA for assistance. After submitting a new Access Request and an Internal Review, Sheree was granted access. Unfortunately, before her planning meeting she was admitted to hospital and as such her disability needs increased.

DACSSA advocated to people at the hospital and coordinated meetings with the NDIA to ensure Sheree’s needs were understood. When she was discharged from hospital, Sheree had disability supports for the first time including a support coordinator, help with things around the house and support from her chosen support worker to access her local shops and activities.
