50-70 years of age
Individual Advocacy
Access to the NDIS

Sandy has lived with Schizophrenia and Borderline Personality Disorder for many years. Sandy has always valued support from mental health programs and her psychologist and was encouraged to apply for assistance from the NDIS. Sandy had applied twice before and been rejected.

Sandy asked DACSSA for assistance to apply to the NDIS. DACSSA assisted Sandy to speak with her psychologist and support worker to collect information about her disability. DACSSA also assisted Sandy to express her own experiences of disability to the NDIA and supported the completion of the Access Request Form.

Sandy received a letter granting her access to the NDIS.
