DACSSA
Disability Advocacy and Complaints Service of Sourth Australia Inc. To Complain Is OK!

Systems Advocacy

The Disability Advocacy and Complaints Service has managed to negotiate the delivery of a very small Systems Advocacy Program.

From January 2007 onwards our Systems Advocacy and Project Coordinator Monika Baker will work on a few systemic issues for two days per week.

Thanks to the Department of Family and Community Services and Indigenous Affairs for understanding the very peculiar situation in South Australia.

We will work together with many other groups and the other advocacy services.

Library

DACSSA has established a small library and anyone is welcome to borrow a book or other items from the library.  The library catalogue can be found on enable net

DACSSA is sponsoring the OUR VOICE SA Committee, a group of self advocates with intellectual and learning disabilities.

The group meets monthly and information can be obtained from any staff member at DACSSA and or go to the OUR VOICE SA website.

On the website you can find two training programs for people with intellectual disabilities. One training program is for consumer reps and the second training program supports people to become peer mentors and consumer rep trainers.

Volunteer Program

DACSSA welcomes volunteer contributions in all areas of our work.

Volunteers are trained and inducted into the area they wish to contribute.
