Lily – NDIS Appeal

10-20 years of age
Individual Advocacy
NDIS Appeal, AAT, Autism

Lily has Autism Spectrum Disorder and is covered by the NDIS for support with her disability. Lily’s mother wasn’t happy with the supports in her daughter Lily’s NDIS plan so she submitted a Section 100(2) Internal Review but still didn’t get the outcome she wanted for Lily who has Autism Spectrum Disorder.

DACSSA supported Lily’s parents to apply to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) within 28 days of the Internal Review outcome. DACSSA supported Lily’s family through the appeal process including acquiring the assistance of a solicitor from the Legal Services Commission’s NDIS Appeals Grants program. The solicitor assisted negotiations with the NDIA in the AAT.

The NDIA and Lily’s family came to an agreement and settled with increased funded supports for the therapy and assistive technology Lily needed.
